As well as various sizes: Pinheads, X Small, Small, Medium and Large. Make sure to get an appropriate sized cricket for your pets to ensure that they cannot choke. The general rule of thumb is to provide a cricket that is the same length as the gap between your pet’s eyes. This way you can ensure that you are feeding insects that are not too small or too large.

Grey crickets (Acheta Domestica) are probably one of the most (if not the most) used feeder insect in the world. Not only are they used for animal consumption, they have also been known to be a delicacy in human meals.

General care for your crickets (Acheta Domestica):

Supply your feeders with adequate heat (+- 26 °C) as well as food and water, the most common food is potato skins and carrots. Try dusting some of their food with the calcium you would feed your pets. This way you are doubling up on the dose of calcium your pet is going to absorb.

It’s also important to keep your containers clean by removing any old food, molts, cleaning out dead insects and replacing their food at least every two days.

Crickets live on average for about eight to ten weeks, going through their various stages. Make sure not to let them out as they can make a noise and are hard to find.

DON’T FORGET, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO GUT LOAD AND DUST YOUR INSECTS BEFORE FEEDING TO YOUR PETS.
