Lobster Roaches (Nauphoeta cinerea)
Lobster roaches are a top-quality live feeder for reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. Their quick, active movement triggers a strong feeding response, even in fussy eaters, and their soft bodies make them easy to digest. They’re high in protein and low in chitin, and easy to gut-load for extra nutrition.
They’re also simple to keep. Lobster roaches can’t fly, can’t climb smooth plastic or glass, make no noise and have very little odour, so they’re a cleaner alternative to crickets.
Ideal for: bearded dragons, leopard geckos, chameleons, monitors, frogs, tarantulas and more.
Care tip: Keep them in a smooth-sided container with egg crate. Feed them fresh veg and a quality gut load, and keep them warm (25–30°C).
